TURRATH, WHICH TRANSLATE TO HERITAGE, WAS FOUNDED BY BADR ABDULJAWAD TO CREATE CONTEMPORARY, CLASSIC DESIGNS THAT PAY HOMAGE TO HIS ARABIC ROOTS. EACH TURRATH PIECE HAS BEEN CAREFULLY THOUGHT THROUGH FROM THE AESTHETICS AND DESIGN, TO THE MATERIALS AND REALIZATION. THE STORY TO EACH OF OUR DESIGNS IS UNIQUE GIVING EACH PIECE IN OUR COLLECTION ITS OWN STORY; ITS OWN TURRATH.

Turrath was started with the goal of combining my heritage and the heritage of our team with modern design and aesthetics to produce garments that the world has never seen before.
That team and all of our heritage have been an inspiration to me and to our designs. We draw from a diverse background, ranging from Pranay’s Indian family, Malene’ Danish minimalism, to my own Middle Eastern traditions. All of us have called North America home for at least a decade, but we’re inspired by our diverse roots every day.
Where heritage is our foundation, quality is what drives us forward. It’s the core of what Turrath is, but not just in the way that our fabric and stitching show up on the final product. Every step in the process of creating our garments is essential to what we are, so we take great care in selecting everyone we work with. From our suppliers to fulfillment, we make sure that everyone who shares the responsibility of creating and delivering a Turrath piece shares the same belief in attention to detail and quality, above all else.
To me, delivering on that promise requires more than just good intentions – in order to ensure that we are not only receiving the best, but also that we are giving back to the communities that we are working with, we’ve travelled across the world, visiting yak shepherds in Mongolia, cashmere manufacturers in Nepal, leather tanneries in Turkey and more. It’s important to me that I’m able to see, feel, and experience where the materials that we’re using are coming from and who’s manufacturing the products. It is for these reasons that I can tell you with confidence that I stand behind every piece that Turrath produces.
Bringing this collection to you has been a labour of love, of passion, of determination, and of an unwavering commitment to representing our heritage, and respecting it in everything that we do. It is the journey, the product, and most importantly the results of many years of work that brought us here that make me so proud to welcome you to Turrath.
